Piano Lesson

Share
Every now and then I sit Theo on my lap and take his finger and show him the basic keys. Now that he has learned his letters so well I worry about confusing him. But it's irresistable to hear him...

Our last lesson he started on C and sang up the scale:

C D E F G...HIJKL....

"No, Theo!" I laughed. I hope I don't throw him out of whack with this!

The same thing happens with me when I try to show him the letter names of the notes: he continues to recite the alphabet! So we'll try another system to get him to learn, the rote approach. I loved hearing him sing back Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with me, a little at a time. He has such a cute little voice. And good pitch. (Of course I'm not being biased, well, maybe a little, but he really does :))It was fun taking him to the music store and seeing his reaction to all the "tars" and "nanos". He really did try to play a tune with one finger on Sam Ash's keyboard. So cute!
